Wigginton Project

Validus Construction was appointed by a private client in Wigginton, York to carry out a garage conversion and install a new kitchen, utility room, and bathroom. The project aimed to create a spacious, modern open-plan living environment while maximising the use of existing internal space.

The works began with the removal of internal walls, allowing for the integration of a new open-plan kitchen diner. Structural steels were installed to support the modified layout and ensure long-term safety and compliance. The former garage was then converted to include a fully fitted utility room and bathroom suite.

Additional works included the installation of new windows and patio doors, new internal sliding doors, and complete redecoration throughout the property, delivering a clean and cohesive finish tailored to the client’s requirements.

To achieve the open-plan layout, existing walls were removed, and load-bearing structural steels were introduced to support the new configuration. This allowed the kitchen, dining, and living spaces to connect seamlessly, improving the home’s flow and functionality.

The underutilised garage was transformed into a utility room and a modern bathroom, complete with plumbing, electrical connections, and all fixtures installed to a high standard. This addition provided valuable extra space without altering the property’s external footprint.

As part of the wider upgrade, new windows and patio doors were installed to improve energy efficiency and enhance natural light. Internally, sliding doors were added to maximise space, while the entire ground floor was decorated throughout, offering a fresh and unified aesthetic.

The Wigginton Project was completed to a high standard, successfully delivering a fully reimagined living space. Key outcomes include:
